The Great Mozzarella Showdown Recipe Contest from The California Milk Advisory Board

Calling all professional foodservice chefs and culinary students! This is your chance to develop creative dishes using California’s #1 cheese product – Mozzarella – for your shot at a share of $20,000 in prize money. Enter your recipe concept in the Mozzarella or Fresh Mozzarella category, or create one for each. Eight finalists will receive $2,000 a piece, and each category winner will take home an additional $2,000 for making Mozzarella the MVP of their dish.

 

The CMAB currently has a contest called “The Great Mozzarella Showdown”. It’s a search to capture the ongoing popularity of Mozzarella and how it can be used in innovative dishes. The goal is to showcase Mozzarella in different appetizers and handheld items, excluding entrées and pizzas.

The contest has two categories: Mozzarella and Fresh Mozzarella. Professional foodservice chefs and culinary students can enter either or both categories by submitting a recipe concept and an “Instagram worthy” photo for each entry.

 

Enter online between now and February 16th, 2024. If your recipe is selected as one of the eight finalists, you will win $2,000 and your dish will be prepared by a CMAB chef to determine the winner in each category. Category winners will receive an additional $2,000 for a grand total of $4,000 awarded to the category winners.

Hints: Read the judging criteria in the Contest Entry Overview and make sure that Mozzarella is the star of your dish! Remember, entrées and pizzas are excluded from entering.
