Judges and Evaluators Needed
Friends and Supporters of Arizona FCCLA,
Mark your calendars now! The 2023 Arizona FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) State Leadership Conference (SLC) is soon approaching. FCCLA is the career and technical student organization for Family Consumer Sciences Education Programs. These programs allow students to prepare for careers in industries such as Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Early Childhood Education, Fashion Design and Merchandising, and Interior Design and Merchandising.
During SLC, members from middle, junior high and high schools across the state of Arizona demonstrate the knowledge, and skills they have obtained in their respective Family Consumer Sciences Education Programs.
Business and industry partners are critical to the success of our organization and to this conference. Many of you have assisted us in the past and your expertise is needed again. We invite you to be an evaluator for one of our events at our 2023 FCCLA State Leadership Conference.
This year the conference will be held March 27th–March 29th, 2023, at the Westin La Paloma in Tucson, AZ. Attached are the Competitive Event Descriptions and Tentative Event Schedule for you to plan. You can also find these on the SLC and the Compete pages of the Arizona FCCLA website. In agreeing to judge an event, you will be committing yourself to about 4-6 hours in either the afternoon of Monday, March 27th and/or all-day Tuesday, March 28th, to evaluate student performances. When we receive your volunteer form and place you, you will be sent a complete description and evaluation rubric for your assigned event. A meal will be provided for each day that you volunteer.
Arizona FCCLA would like to thank you in advance for agreeing to make this valuable contribution of your time and expertise to the students of Arizona. Preparing students for the workplace is an ongoing process. Through the cooperative efforts of business, industry and educational professionals, we can provide experiences for our students that will help them develop the necessary knowledge and skills to build successful and lasting careers.
